These Terms and Conditions apply specifically to the sale of merchandise through www.truecrime.online and to merchandise purchased directly from Truecrime.online at events, exhibitions, book launches, speaking engagements, conventions, promotional appearances and other in-person sales locations.

They should be read alongside the general Truecrime.online Website Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy where applicable.

1. Introduction

1.1 These Merchandise Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the advertising, ordering, purchase, payment, collection, delivery, return and refund of merchandise sold by Truecrime.online through www.truecrime.online (“Website”) and directly at events or other in-person sales locations.

1.2 Merchandise may include, but is not limited to, hoodies, T-shirts, mugs, notepads, pens, bookmarks, keyrings, accessories, promotional products and any other merchandise offered for sale by Truecrime.online.

1.3 By purchasing merchandise through the Website or directly from Truecrime.online at an event, you agree that the purchase is subject to these Terms together with any applicable statutory consumer rights.

1.4 Different statutory rights may apply depending upon whether merchandise is purchased online or in person. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or otherwise affect any statutory rights you have as a consumer under applicable UK consumer law.

2. â€‹Merchandise and Product Information

2.1 We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, sizes, colours, designs, prices and other information displayed on the Website or used when advertising merchandise at events are accurate.

2.2 Images and promotional displays are provided for illustrative purposes. Colours, artwork placement, print appearance, dimensions, and finishes may vary slightly due to manufacturing and printing processes.

2.3 Minor variations that do not materially affect the quality, functionality or overall appearance of a product will not necessarily constitute a fault.

2.4 Customers are responsible for checking product descriptions, sizes, colours and other available specifications before purchasing merchandise.

2.5 Where merchandise is purchased at an event, customers are encouraged to inspect the item and, where applicable, confirm the correct garment size before completing the purchase.

2.6 Merchandise is subject to availability. Products available through the website may not necessarily be available at events, and merchandise available at an event may not necessarily be available through the website.

3. Prices and Payment

3.1 The price payable for merchandise will be the price displayed through the website or stated at the event or point of sale at the time of purchase.

3.2 Website purchases may also be subject to applicable delivery charges, which will be displayed before the order is completed.

3.3 Payment must be made using one of the payment methods accepted by Truecrime.online through the website or at the relevant event.

3.4 We reserve the right to correct genuine pricing errors before completing a sale.

4. Website Orders

4.1 Customers purchasing through the Website are responsible for ensuring that all information supplied when placing an order is complete and accurate, including their name, delivery address, email address, product selection, size and quantity.

4.2 Customers should check their order carefully before submitting payment.

4.3 An electronic order confirmation will normally be issued following completion and acceptance of an online order.

4.4 If we are unable to fulfil an accepted Website order, the customer will be notified, and any appropriate refund will be processed.

5. Event and In-Person Purchases

5.1 Merchandise may be offered for sale directly by Truecrime.online at events, exhibitions, conventions, book launches, speaking engagements, promotional appearances and other locations.

5.2 Customers should inspect merchandise and confirm that they have selected the correct item, colour and size before completing an in-person purchase.

5.3 Where available, customers should retain their receipt or other proof of purchase.

5.4 A customer’s statutory rights in relation to faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods remain unaffected by purchasing merchandise at an event.

5.5 The statutory cancellation rights that generally apply to certain online and distance purchases do not necessarily apply to merchandise purchased in person simply because the customer has changed their mind.

5.6 Any discretionary exchange or return for a non-faulty item purchased at an event is subject to the conditions communicated at the time of sale and does not affect statutory rights.

6. Online Cancellation Rights

6.1 Where the statutory cancellation right applies to an online purchase, customers generally have 14 days from receipt of the goods in which to inform us that they wish to cancel their purchase.

6.2 After notifying us of cancellation, merchandise must be returned within the applicable statutory return period.

6.3 Customers may inspect merchandise only to the extent reasonably necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning.

6.4 Where merchandise has been handled beyond what is reasonably necessary, and its value has consequently been reduced, we reserve the right to make any deduction from the refund permitted by law.

6.5 Unless merchandise is faulty, incorrect or otherwise fails to conform to the contract, customers may be responsible for the direct cost of returning cancelled merchandise where this has been communicated before purchase.

6.6 Certain goods may be excluded from cancellation rights where a statutory exemption applies, including goods made to a customer's specifications or clearly personalised.

7. Returns, Faults and Refunds

7.1 Customers wishing to request a return or report a problem with merchandise purchased through the website or at an event should contact truecrime.online@yahoo.com

7.2 Customers should provide their name, proof of purchase where available, details of the merchandise and the reason for requesting a return.

7.3 If you allege that merchandise is faulty or damaged, we will ask you to provide photographs or other reasonable evidence to help us assess the issue.

7.4 Merchandise supplied by Truecrime.online must conform to the contract and meet the standards required by applicable consumer law.

7.5 Nothing within these Terms limits the customer's statutory remedies where merchandise is faulty, damaged when supplied, not as described or otherwise fails to conform to the contract.

7.6 Damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, normal wear and tear or failure to follow the supplied merchandise care instructions will not normally constitute an inherent product fault.

8. Hoodies and T-Shirts – Important Care Instructions

8.1 Printed hoodies, T-shirts and other applicable garments require specific care to protect the garment and printed artwork.

The following care instructions apply unless otherwise stated:

  • Hand-wash only.

  • Do not tumble dry.

  • Allow the garment to dry naturally.

  • Iron inside out.

  • Do not iron directly over printed artwork, motifs, logos, transfers or other printed areas.

8.2 Direct heat applied to printed areas may distort, melt, smudge, lift or remove the print and may also damage your iron.

8.3 Customers are responsible for following these care instructions regardless of whether the garment was purchased through the Website or at an event.

8.4 Hoodies and T-shirts may be produced or printed by an external printing company. Where a manufacturing or printing fault is alleged, photographs, the garment or other relevant evidence may be referred to the printer or supplier for technical assessment.

8.5 The printer or supplier may assess whether deterioration is consistent with a manufacturing defect, normal merchandise wear and tear, misuse, washing damage, heat damage or failure to follow the care instructions.

8.6 Where the evidence establishes that damage has resulted from improper care, misuse, normal wear and tear or failure to follow the stated care instructions rather than an inherent manufacturing fault, a refund, replacement or repair may not be available.

8.7 The assessment of the external printer or supplier may be considered when determining the cause of damage. Nothing within this provision excludes or overrides statutory consumer rights.

9. Mugs – Care Instructions

9.1 Printed mugs should be handled carefully to preserve the printed design.

9.2 Unless otherwise stated for an individual product, mugs may be dishwasher safe. However, repeated dishwasher cycles, high temperatures and detergents may cause printed artwork to fade or lift over time.

9.3 To preserve the printed design for as long as possible, hand washing in warm, soapy water is recommended.

9.4 Do not use abrasive cleaners, abrasive sponges, scouring pads or other materials that may scratch or damage the mug or printed artwork.

9.5 Dry carefully using a soft, non-abrasive cloth or allow the mug to air dry.

9.6 Gradual deterioration caused by repeated washing, abrasion, ordinary use or normal wear and tear does not necessarily constitute a manufacturing fault.

10. Other Merchandise

10.1 Notepads, pens, bookmarks, keyrings and other merchandise should be used for their intended purpose and cared for appropriately.

10.2 Merchandise should be protected from excessive moisture, heat, abrasive materials or other conditions likely to cause damage unless specifically designed for such exposure.

10.3 Product-specific care instructions are part of the applicable care guidance and are provided through the website, at an event, on packaging, or with the merchandise.
